How much does a website cost in the Netherlands in 2026?

A website project at OROS starts at €750 excl. VAT for a campaign landing page. A compact business website starts at €1,600, a larger one at €2,500, and a webshop or custom integration at €4,000. The final price follows from scope, content, functionality and preparation.

At OROS, a website starts in 2026 at €750 excl. VAT for a campaign landing page. A compact business website starts at €1,600, a larger business website at €2,500, and a webshop or project with custom integrations at €4,000. If an existing site mainly needs targeted repairs, Website Rescue starts at €900. Care & support starts at €99 per month.

These are OROS starting prices, not an average for every website in the Netherlands. A useful price only becomes clear when you know what the website must do, how many page types are needed, what content already exists, which functions must work and who owns the site after launch. The better question is not only “What does a website cost?” but also “What must be included in that price?”

It is unique templates, not just the page count

The number of pages is an easy way to compare quotes, but the number of unique page templates often matters more. A service page, booking page, catalogue and campaign page each have their own structure, design and behaviour.

Twenty pages using one well-built template can require less work than five pages that are all different. Reusable components reduce the cost of repeated work, although every page still needs content entry and quality checks.

Every project also has a foundation that does not disappear when you order only one page. Someone still needs to understand your business, audience and offer, define the brief, make decisions with you and check the result. Experience makes repeated work faster; genuinely unique work remains unique.

Four types of websites, four different projects

The prices below are OROS starting prices, excl. VAT. They show how the type of project changes the amount of work.

Project typeWhen it fitsOROS starting price
Campaign landing pageOne offer, action or advertising campaign with one clear next step€750
Compact business websiteA small business with a focused offer and limited structure€1,600
Larger business websiteMore content, audiences or functions that need extra design and build work€2,500
Webshop or custom integrationsProducts, payments, bookings or connections to other systems€4,000

A starting price is not an automatic final price, but it should not be a deliberately low teaser either. The exact scope and what is included should be written down in the quote.

What should a good quote include?

Two quotes with the same total can deliver very different things. Check the site structure, copywriting and content entry, mobile design, forms, integrations, testing, measurement, migration, revision rounds, ownership of accounts and post-launch support.

“All-in” is useful only when both sides mean the same thing. Without a concrete scope, important work can quietly sit outside the price.

AI can speed up building, but it cannot define the brief

AI tools can accelerate a first codebase, repeated components or an early copy draft. A website project is more than typing code: the business, audience and structure still need to be understood, and the content, mobile route, forms and integrations need to be checked.

I have been building websites since 2009. I started with HTML in Notepad, later worked with MODX and then with website builders and AI tools. That experience is valuable not because every project should be built the hard way, but because it helps choose the simplest reliable approach and spot risks early.

What makes a website more expensive?

The price rises when a project requires more decisions, content or technology: extra languages, a webshop, bookings, online payments, CRM connections, a complex migration or a design created entirely from scratch.

A CRM connection means deciding which data is sent, where it lands, how duplicates are handled and what happens when something fails. A calculator needs formulas, conditions, input validation and a clear result. A reusable function becomes cheaper on later pages, but the first logic and full test still have to be built.

Ready content can save work. A suitable logo, usable copy and good photos are a strong start, although outdated material may only be reusable in part. External booking, email and payment tools can also have their own subscriptions or transaction fees.

Why do you also see websites for €100?

Online offers can start around €85–€99. That price does not automatically describe the same service as a custom commercial website. It may mean one template page, a tightly standardised package, a temporary promotion or a recurring subscription model.

That kind of site can be a sensible temporary solution for a new business with a simple offer and plenty of time. For a business that depends on enquiries, trust or a distinct position, compare the analysis, structure, testing and responsibility as well as the build price.

A hosting-company website builder: cheap in money, not always in time

Hosting companies increasingly offer visual website builders. You choose a template or ask AI for a first version, then edit the pages in a visual editor. This lowers the financial barrier, but you still need to prepare content, configure forms, check mobile layouts and solve problems when they appear.

“No code” does not mean “no work”. Ready-made blocks can also produce an interchangeable result when nobody adapts the message and structure to the business.

When does building it yourself make sense?

Self-build can be the right choice when the goal is small, the budget is limited, you have time and no complex integrations are needed. It is often sensible for a first version before the offer and customer demand are proven.

Once a working business depends on enquiries, bookings or sales, outsourcing usually buys more than implementation: it buys structure, decisions, quality control and responsibility when something does not work.

Which costs continue after launch?

A website still needs a domain, hosting and some form of maintenance after launch. Depending on the setup, there may be paid plugins, licences, email services, booking software, backups, security updates and future content changes.

Ask who manages these parts and what you can take over yourself. At OROS, Care & support starts at €99 per month.

Repair, redesign or rebuild?

A slow or outdated website does not automatically need to be replaced. A targeted repair can make sense when the technical foundation is stable and the problems are clear. A redesign fits when the content and technology still work but the structure or appearance no longer fits the business.

Sometimes rebuilding is simpler than stacking fixes on a weak foundation. The right choice is the one that solves the actual problem without selling unnecessary work. Website Rescue starts at OROS at €900 excl. VAT; whether it fits depends on what is really wrong.

How to compare two quotes

Mark the differences in scope first. Are copy and images merely placed, or edited? Is mobile design included? Who handles forms, measurement, migration, accounts and external licences? How many revision rounds are included, and what happens if something fails after launch?

Also check whether prices include VAT and which costs recur. The lowest total can be right, but only when the quote contains the work you actually need.

Not sure which website fits your business?

An average price is not very useful before you know the type of project you need. Start with the goal, define the content and functions that support it, and then agree who owns the build, launch and ongoing management.

If you have a rough idea of what you need, start with the website calculator. It gives an indication based on pages, functions and your preferred management model.

If you are comparing providers or deciding between repair and a rebuild, describe your situation briefly on the website service page. Your current situation, goal and an existing link are enough to start.
